Consultation, Fees, and Cancellation

Washam Psychoanalysis provides psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, couples treatment, family treatment, reunification therapy, co-parenting therapy, and forensic consultation for individuals, couples, families, attorneys, and participants in court-involved matters.

Treatment is offered within a private-pay professional practice emphasizing discretion, depth, continuity, and individualized clinical attention.

Dr. Washam’s practice includes concierge-level continuity of care as part of the ordinary clinical philosophy of the practice. There is no separate concierge fee. When clinically appropriate, patients may receive thoughtful between-session responsiveness by telephone or text, particularly during periods of emotional strain, marital difficulty, family conflict, or psychologically significant decision-making.

Traditional Outpatient Psychotherapy Fees

Traditional outpatient psychotherapy services are provided at a fee of $150 per 55-minute clinical session.

Traditional outpatient services may include psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, couples treatment, and family treatment provided outside the context of a court-involved or forensic engagement.

Court-Involved and Forensic Professional Fees

Court-involved family therapy, forensic consultation, and related professional services are provided at a fee of $225 per 55 minutes.

These services include, but are not limited to, court-ordered or agreed-upon reunification therapy, court-ordered co-parenting therapy, reunification services initiated voluntarily by parents or counsel in anticipation of litigation or settlement, and other therapeutic services provided in connection with court-involved family matters.

The court-involved and forensic professional rate also applies to the review and analysis of court orders, pleadings, psychological and medical records, educational records, social service records, law enforcement reports, and other relevant materials; consultation with attorneys, Guardians ad Litem, Parenting Coordinators, treating professionals, and other professionals when clinically or legally appropriate; preparation of written reports and professional correspondence; case preparation; depositions; court testimony; and other professional services performed in connection with legal proceedings.

Professional time is billed in 55-minute increments or prorated for partial increments, as appropriate.

When Dr. Washam is formally retained in anticipation of litigation, depositions, hearings, or court testimony, an advance retainer of $2,250 is required. Professional services performed in connection with the forensic engagement will be billed against the retainer. The retainer must be replenished as necessary to ensure continuity of services. Any unused portion of the retainer will be refunded upon completion of the professional engagement.

Cancellation Policy:

Scheduled therapy sessions and professional appointments are reserved specifically for each patient, family, or professional matter. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide Dr. Washam with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, and appointments that a participant fails to attend, will be billed at the full fee applicable to the scheduled appointment. This policy applies to traditional outpatient psychotherapy appointments and court-involved or forensic professional appointments.

This policy is intended to respect the time of patients and professional participants, Dr. Washam’s availability, and the scheduling needs of others seeking care or professional services. Missing an appointment without adequate notice disrupts the therapeutic or professional process and prevents that time from being made available to another patient, family, or matter.

Exceptions may be made in cases of genuine emergency, illness, severe weather, or other circumstances in which providing 24 hours’ notice would not reasonably have been possible.
