About Episcopal Counseling Services

Since it's founding in 1994, Episcopal Counseling Services (Diocese of Lexington) has provided psychotherapy and pastoral counseling that is sensitive not only to relational and emotional issues, but to spiritual and ethical issues as well. The integration of theology and the behavioral sciences provides a unique prospective and insight into issues of life that are often expressed in spiritual language; that is, questions of purpose, meaning, direction, self worth, and value.

Episcopal Counseling Services is committed to caring for the emotional, intellectual, relational, physical, and spiritual needs of persons, couples, and families. As such, our primary goal is to promote healing and wholeness for those who suffer, and to enhance individuals' relationship to self, others, and God. Dr. Washam is ecclesiastically endorsed by The Episcopal Diocese of Lexington for this specialized ministry of psychotherapy and pastoral counseling.
